This may sound like a fancy and complicated side to prepare, but believe us, it couldn’t be easier. In a world of complicated holiday side dishes, this recipe stands out for its deliciousness and easy preparation. It will take 15 minutes, 1 skillet AND BACON!
1 lb green beans
2 or 3 slices thick cut bacon, chopped
2 shallots, minced (if you do not have shallots, you can use 1/2 onion)
½ cup almonds, sliced or chopped
2 tablespoons chicken broth
Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat the Large Classic Skillet on medium heat, add the bacon and cook until crisp, about 5 minutes. Remove the bacon from the utensil, place in a small bowl and set aside. Add the shallots to the skillet and cook, stirring constantly with a Spoonula, for about 2 or 3 minutes. Add the green beans and season with salt and pepper. Add the chicken broth, cover the utensil with the vent open and cook for about 5 minutes. The green beans should be crispy and with a bright and vibrant green color.
Finally, add the bacon and almonds. Stir that toasty, nutty stuff. Delicious… Remove from heat and serve immediately. Your guests are going to love it!
The finished dish is undeniably simple, yet elegant enough to serve for your holiday dinner. Enjoy!
