Imagine a cold and rainy day, and you are craving hot chocolate. But, what if you love hot chocolate and the weather is too warm. Simple; make Hot Chocolate Popsicles!
Most kids love to help in the kitchen, especially when we make delicious treats that they can enjoy later. Just remember to be careful when cooking with your kids, since the liquids will be very hot. This recipe is so easy that the hardest part is waiting until the popsicles go in the freezer! But after you try one, you will see the wait was worth it!
2 cups of milk
1 ½ cups of heavy cream
½ cup of dark chocolate cut into pieces
4 tablespoons of bitter cocoa powder
2 tablespoons of instant coffee
1 teaspoon of vanilla
½ cup of sweetened condensed milk
Start by mixing all of the ingredients, except for the dark chocolate and sweetened condensed milk, in the Coffee Press/Chocolatera. Cook over medium heat until the mixture is hot. It is important that you do not let it reach a boiling point.
Remove from heat and add the dark chocolate and sweetened condensed milk. Mix well until everything is completely incorporated. Now comes the most difficult part the recipe; wait until the mixture is cool, and pour it into the popsicles molds, and freeze for at least 8 hours or overnight.
If you want to take these popsicles to the next level and make them more sophisticated, you can dip them in melted chocolate and sprinkle chopped nuts on top. If you you decide to make them this way, place them back in the freezer for a few minutes to firm up the chocolate.
They are delicious, and your family will be asking for more!
