When you think of a delicious cake, which flavors comes to mind? You probably think of the traditional flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and even carrot. But, how about an Orange Cake? If you like the idea, this is your lucky day! Even better, you won’t need to use your oven for this recipe; it’s easy to make, and your family will love it! Be sure to watch the video at the end of this post!

If you prepare the cake using Rena Ware’s Induction Cooker, pay attention to the cooking time. If you use a gas or electric stove, be sure you use the lowest temperature setting. In either case, remove the cake from the utensil as soon as it is done. Due to the even heat distribution of Rena Ware utensils the cake may burn if you let it sit in the utensil for too long. For this recipe, you will need the 28 cm Large Frypan with cover.

No-oven Orange Sponge Cake

3 eggs
3 tablespoons of melted butter
8 tablespoons of sugar
2 cups of self-rising flour
1 cup of evaporated milk
½ cup of orange juice
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of orange zest
1 cup of powdered sugar
4 strawberries
½ cup of blackberries

Use the Combination Whisk from our Kitchen Tool Set to beat the eggs and sugar together until the sugar dissolves. Add the flour and baking powder. Add and mix in the melted butter. Keep stirring until all the ingredients are combined. Use the Citrus Reamer from our set of Chef’s Accessories to squeeze the orange juice and the Grater to grate the orange zest. Add the juice and zest to the batter along with the evaporated milk and continue stirring until well incorporated.

Pour your batter into the Large Frypan that you have previously greased with butter or oil. Cover the utensil and set the Nutri Sensor to the “Close” position. Set the Induction Cooker to level one and set the timer for 27 minutes. Cook the cake for 10 minutes, lower the heat until it reaches the “Keep Warm” mode, and “bake” for 17 more minutes. Insert a toothpick or wooden skewer in the center of the cake. If it comes out clean, it is completely cooked. If it comes out wet, leave it on the burner for a few minutes more until it comes out dry.

Unmold the cake over a cooling rack and let it cool completely. Top with strawberries and blackberries and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Easy and delicious. Enjoy!
