What a wonderful time of the year for a celebration! The beginning of a new year is a great opportunity to reflect on the past, look forward to the future, and gather together with family and friends. Here is a simple and delicious recipe that is easy to make and reminds me of the coming springtime. Serve it with a fresh green salad and some cold sparkling juice to make a festive meal to share with those you love.

1 package linguine noodles
salt and oil for cooking the noodles
4 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons minced garlic (about 8 cloves)
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined (about 16-20 shrimp)
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 cup parsley, chopped
Zest of 1⁄2 lemon (about 1 tablespoon)
4-5 tablespoons lemon juice
1⁄2 lemon, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Drizzle a little oil in a large utensil, such as the 6 Litre, add water, and bring to a boil. Add salt, the linguine, and cook for 7 to 10 minutes, or according to the directions on the package.
Meanwhile, melt the butter with the olive oil in the Large Frypan over medium heat.
When ready, add the garlic and saute for 1 minute. Be careful as garlic can burn easily! Add the shrimp, 1 teaspoon of salt, pepper, and saute until the shrimp have just turned pink, about 5 minutes. Be sure to stir it often while cooking.
Remove from the heat, add the parsley, lemon zest, lemon juice, lemon slices, and red pepper flakes.
Toss to combine.
When the pasta is done cooking, drain it and then return it to the same utensil.
Immediately add the shrimp and the sauce, toss together, and serve.
